19thC Large Globe For Brussels National Institute Of Geography c.1890

19th Century Victorian large globe, painted black, previously used for educational purposes, with just the outline of continents and countries highlighted in red. Made by The Brussels National Institute of Geography, the globe is constructed with solid blocks of wood and suspended in a cast iron cradle and stand, with a turning wheel at the top, all of which is original.
The Brussels Institute of Geography was founded in 1882 by former publisher Theodore Falk-Fabian. They sold globes in various sizes, languages and materials. Unfortunately Fabian became ill and the business closed in 1899, a year later sadly Fabian died.
CONDITION
In Great Condition - wear consistent with age.
