20thC Mahogany & Rosewood Speed Boat Made In The State Prison c.1930

£0.00

Reference Number: D7563

Antique early-20th Century working model of the Hacker Twin Cockpit Racing Runabout. Apparently this boat was built by a New York State prisoner in the 1930’s, he reputedly made four of these boats, one for each of his nephews. This one was for his eldest nephew Jimmy. Made from rose wood and mahogany with brass and copper fittings, with three hatch doors, perspex windshields standing on a presentation base with two drawers and anchor shaped handles. On its own stand with two drawers and a dedicated name plaque to ”Jimmy”. A well made piece that is truly unique.
