A 19th Century Victorian silver plate & cut glass spirit barrel. Dating from the 1890's, this elegant piece by Mappin & Webb was designed for storing and serving fine spirits. The barrel is mounted on a silver-plated stand, accentuated by two metal bands and a cork top for easy refilling. It features a small tap for pouring and includes a small pail to catch drips, which also serves as a measuring pot. The glass is exquisitely cut with multiple facets and angles, showcasing craftsmanship of the era.
This stunning item is not only a conversation starter but also a superb relic of a bygone age. The underside of the stand is stamped with the Mappin & Webb mark.
