Antique early 20th century Louis Vuitton trunk covered in the world famous LV monogrammed canvas, with its lozine borders and brass fitting this trunk would have been the top of the line even at the time of purchase over 100 years ago. This monogrammed canvas,covered trunk by Louis Vuitton was distributed and sold by John Wanamaker & Co the very first department store in Philadelphia. Influenced by his younger son Rodman who lived in Paris early in his career, to sell luxury French goods, Wanamaker’d was an incredibly successful store. The site of the original Anamakers in Philadelphia is today Macy’s. This trunk has original brass fittings and castors with the Louis Vuitton label and the Wanamaker label inside. A fantastic conversation piece, a great size for a coffee table or just as a standalone item suitable for any interior, both modern or traditional.
